Akshay Kumar in Bok Fu Do

BOK FU DO
Bok Fu Do, meaning "the way of the white tiger", is a Chinese-based martial art system with origins in ancient Chinese Kung Fu. However, the modern system is a product founded and developed in the west. Bok Fu Do has been recognized internationally due to consistent success in world competition.
The creator of ancient Bok Fu was a Shaolin monk and Taoist swordsman named Fong Sai Yuk. He also invented a “soft” form of martial arts known today as White Tiger Tai Chi.
Modern Bok Fu was developed by Grand Master Richard Lee beginning in 1967. After opening a Chinese Kenpo school in California, Lee soon traveled the world to study and research various fighting systems of martial arts beginning in China. Lee next went to Japan and visited Karate and Judo schools. After traveling to Korea and visiting taekwondo schools, he studing other techniques in Africa, southeast Asia, and elsewhere. It was later in India where Lee first observed the rare white tiger, which inspired Lee to adopt the Chinese translation of Bok-Fu for the name of his style of martial arts.
In 1994, Lee received his 10th degree black belt from Grandmaster Al Tracy in the presence of an international who’s who in Chinese martial arts.
Bok Fu Do draws on many styles of martial arts including ancient Bok Fu, northern and southern styles of Shaolin Kung Fu, Kenpo and Shotokan Karate, Ju-jitsu, Kenpo, and TaeKwonDo. Bok Fu Do incorporates many more kicking techniques than other kenpo styles.
